Paul Bunyan Days 2009

This year will be the 70th anniversary of celebrating Paul Bunyan Days here on the north coast. During Labor Day weekend do not miss out on seeing guys throwing axes, climbing trees, climbing poles and bucking logs. The logging expo takes place at Todd's point on Sunday. The rest of the weekend will include the Ugliest Dog Contest, a parade, the Blue Ox Beer Festival, the Belle of the Redwoods Competition, a Crafts Fair, a Classic Dress Review, the Big Brothers Big Sisters BBQ, a Gem, Mineral and Fossil show, and a Firefighters water fight. Come enjoy all the exciting events going on during Labor Day here on the Mendocino Coast and don't forget to watch all the old timers and youngsters competing in Sundays Logging Expo.

Rendezvous Inn's "Taste of Summer and Local Wines"

July 15 - September 30 There will be a three course summer tasting menu paired with optional local wines by glass. The menu also includes heirloom tomatoes, butter poached fresh Maine lobster, and home grown red currant sauced grilled medallions of venison. This kayaking skills class focuses on the basics of an efficient stroke, effective maneuvering, and injury prevention which is always a good thing to know about.
